Meet the imam building a ‘Muslim Village’ in the heart of Vegas

Imam Fateen Seifullah is leading a transformative initiative in Las Vegas, aiming to create a 'Muslim Village' that fosters community and support. Since 2010, he has worked to eliminate local crime and improve the neighborhood around Masjid As-Sabur, the oldest mosque in the area. The project includes affordable housing, a medical clinic, a food pantry, and educational programs, serving both Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

The initiative has not only provided essential services but also aimed to uplift the community's spirit by reframing the perception of the neighborhood. Imam Seifullah emphasizes the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment, which has attracted a diverse group of residents, including college students and seniors, many of whom are not Muslim.
