Nobel Peace Prize: Bangladeshi-American Dr Ruhul Abid, his org HAEFA get nomination

Dr. Ruhul Abid, a Bangladeshi-American professor, has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his significant contributions to healthcare in Bangladesh. His nonprofit organization, Health and Education for All (HAEFA), has provided essential medical services to underprivileged communities, including garment workers and Rohingya refugees.

Since its inception, HAEFA has treated over 30,000 garment workers and supported cervical cancer screening for thousands of women. The organization has also been pivotal in providing healthcare to more than 150,000 Rohingya refugees, addressing chronic diseases and managing health crises, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Abid's innovative approach, including the development of a mobile Electronic Medical Record system, has enhanced healthcare delivery in refugee camps. His nomination highlights the importance of humanitarian efforts in improving health outcomes for marginalized populations in Bangladesh and beyond.
