London Muslim to Run 150Km while Fasting to Support Refugees

About IslamApr 6, 2022

Cherno Jagne, a London-based Muslim, is undertaking a remarkable challenge this Ramadan by running 150km to raise funds for Afghan refugees. His initiative aims to support those who are struggling to rebuild their lives in the UK and the US, especially during this holy month of fasting.

Last year, Jagne successfully ran 100km while fasting, raising £11,000 to provide food packs for refugees in Greece and Lebanon. This year, he has set a more ambitious target of £50,000, which will be used to supply food baskets, medical care, and essential support for newly arrived Afghan individuals.

Jagne emphasizes that Ramadan is not only about fasting but also about charity and giving back to those in need. His efforts highlight the importance of community support and the role of Muslims in aiding refugees during challenging times, reinforcing the spirit of compassion that Ramadan embodies.
