Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has announced a significant solar plant project in Lebanon aimed at alleviating the country's ongoing energy crisis. This initiative, developed in collaboration with French company TotalEnergies, is expected to provide much-needed electricity to Lebanon, which has been struggling with severe power shortages and financial instability.
During his visit to Beirut, Sheikh Mohammed also addressed the pressing issue of Israeli violations in Lebanese territory, emphasizing Qatar's solidarity with the Lebanese people. He highlighted the need for Israel to withdraw from Lebanon and cease its military actions, which have resulted in significant casualties and displacement.
The Qatari PM's discussions included plans for future reconstruction efforts in southern Lebanon, aiming to facilitate the return of displaced individuals. This project not only represents a crucial investment in Lebanon's infrastructure but also underscores Qatar's commitment to supporting the region during challenging times.
