Arab NewsAdded 44 hours ago

Raqqa National Hospital is set to resume cataract surgeries after a 14-year hiatus, thanks to a donation from Al-Basar International Foundation. The hospital has received essential medical equipment, including a surgical microscope and a phacoemulsification machine, which will significantly enhance local healthcare capabilities.

This development means that patients in Raqqa will no longer need to travel to other provinces for cataract treatment, improving access to essential eye care services. Hospital director Dr. Ahmad Al-Assaf emphasized the importance of this initiative for the local community, as it will allow approximately 400 cataract surgeries to be performed.

The restoration of these services is a significant step forward for healthcare in Raqqa, which has faced numerous challenges over the years. This initiative not only addresses a critical health need but also represents a broader effort to rebuild and improve medical facilities in the region.
